Land Acknowledgement
We respectfully acknowledge that the lands on which the PCS team gathers are situated within Treaty 8 territory—ancestral and traditional homelands of the Cree, Dene, Beaver, Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous nations.
We honor and give deep thanks to the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who have responsibly cared for these landscapes—rivers, woodlands, grasslands, and beyond—from time immemorial. We acknowledge the ongoing presence and knowledge of Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members, both past and present, whose wisdom continues to guide us.
We recognize land acknowledgment as an important action of reconciliation and gratitude. The PCS team is committed to building respectful relationships and walking forward in partnership with Indigenous communities—supporting cultural resurgence, education, and mutual care as long as the sun shines, grass grows, and rivers flow.
