Grande Prairie Public School Division offers a variety of Programs of Choice and three Schools of Choice to offer students a variety of learning opportunities. In many cases specific schools host specific programs of choice, so students may have to transfer from their neighbourhood boundary school to the school that offers the Program of Choice they are interested in. Program offerings are dependent of meeting minimum enrollment numbers.
Child of a New Family to GPPSD
New Families can apply for their children to attend a Program of Choice by completing your child's 'New Student Registration Form' online for the correct school year. Follow the steps to Create your SchoolEngage account and add your student.
- Sign into SchoolEngage
- Select 'Student
- Select the 'New Student Registration Form' for the correct school year
- On page 2 under the heading Programs of Choice, and click the 'I want to apply for my child to attend [Program]'
- Complete the form and Submit
Current GPPSD students can apply to attend Programs of Choice by completing Program of Choice Application form. Follow these steps:
- Sign into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account
- Click on SchoolEngage button on the left navigation menu
- Select 'Student' in the menu
- Select the student's name you would like to complete the form for
- Forms for Programs and Schools of Choice are in the Forms menu on the right of your screen. Select and complete the Program of Choice application form that your child would like to apply for.
- Complete and Submit the application form
- Program of Choice Schools will be in contact to complete the process and finalize acceptance into the program.
Yearly in May parents/guardians will recieve an email to complete the 'Are You Returning Form'. If you have applied for your child to attend a program of choice for the upcoming school year, you can indicate in that form that you have applied for that program of choice and at which school.
