Current Families Registration Information

For current GPPSD families registering an additional child

This is for Parents/Guardians who currently have an active PowerSchool Parent Portal account with GPPSD.

If you require support resetting your PowerSchool Parent Portal Password, contact your school or Central Office.

Each year, the annual registration process has specific opening and closing dates. Families can register New Students at any time during a school year. 

Registration

A current GPPSD Family (you have children currently attending a GPPSD School) who would like to register another child in your family for school. Parent/Guardians currently have an active PowerSchool Parent Portal account.

These include:

  • Adding a new Kindergarten student
  • Adding a new French Immersion or Montessori Preschool student
  • Adding a new Grade 1-12 student who is not currently registered with GPPSD.

If that is your family, please do the following:

  • Sign into your PowerSchool Parent Portal
  • Select SchoolEngage on the left menu
  • Select Add Student to add the new child
  • Select the Student in the menu
  • Complete the New Student Registration Form

Important: Please ensure you are entering information into the 2023-2024 New Student Registration Form.

Instructions

  • Complete the online student registration application
  • Proof of age: child’s birth certificate or immigration documentation (for newcomers)
  • Your child’s Alberta Health Number
  • Proof of residential address matching parent/guardians name and address submitted.  Documents accepted are utility bill, rental agreement, bill of sale, municipal or federal correspondence
  • Copies of any court orders affecting student
  • Give us a call for help at 780-532-4491

Current GPPSD Families can go directly to the PowerSchool Parent Portal:

  • Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal
  • Select SchoolEngage
  • Select 'Student'
  • Select the student from your student list you wish to complete the form for
  • Complete the Program of Choice form for the program

Applications for the next school year open the same day as New Student Registration and close on the Friday of the second week of September.

Schools of Choice

  • Christian Programming complete the Christian Program Pre Screen,
  • French Immersion for students entering Grade 5 complete the Late Entry Frech Immersion Application, or a New Student Registration for Preschool or Kindergarten
  • Parkside Montessori is only available for New Preschool students (complete the New Student Registration form)
