If you decide not to follow the Alberta Programs of Study, you must make sure your program meets the Schedule of Learning Outcomes for Students Receiving Home Education Programs. See the Home Education Handbook Page 19 that outlines the Learning Outcomes for this type of Program.

Assessment

Assessment can serve different purposes at different times. Assessment is to ensure students are meeting curriculum expectations for their grade level; indicate what students know or do not know; and may be used to help student improve their learning. Assessment is also used to adjust instruction to meet the needs of students. Assessment informs students in their learning as well.
