GPPSD Education Foundation Received $7,000 through Iceberg Hockey Tournament

The Grande Prairie Public School Division Education Foundation is incredibly grateful to be one of the recipients of the 2025 Iceberg Hockey Tournament, receiving a generous $7,000 donation in support of student mental health.
Founded in 2017, the Iceberg Hockey Tournament is committed to raising awareness and funding for children’s mental health. Proceeds from the annual event help cover the cost of psychological assessments for students who may otherwise face long wait times or financial barriers to support. Assessments are delivered by trained professionals and can cost up to $2,500 per student.
This year’s donation will directly support assessments for students within GPPSD, ensuring timely access to the care they need to thrive.
The 2025 tournament took place at the J.D.A. County Sportsplex in late March and featured its first-ever female division. Eleven teams of 13- and 14-year-old players from across Alberta and British Columbia participated in the three-day event.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Iceberg Hockey Tournament organizers and volunteers for their continued dedication to youth mental health. Your efforts are making a real difference in the lives of our community's students.
