The Academy

The Academy programming is delivered to students during regular school hours by highly qualified coaches. Depending on the programming, students will either remain at a GPPSD school site, or will travel to venues across the City of Grande Prairie or County of Grande Prairie.

There are two main branches to The Academy:

• Skills Academy (Hockey, Dance, Golf), grades 4-12*
• Academy Athletics (multi-sport), grades 4-12*

* For grades 9-12, the Grande Prairie Composite High School offers The Academy Athletics and Charles Spencer High School offers the Skills Academy. 

Please note program offerings are dependent on meeting minimum enrollment numbers.

Our main campus is at Alexander Forbes School – The Academy School. Students in the following schools are able to register for Academy Programs without leaving their boundary schools.

Students who live out of the school boundaries listed, and who want to attend Academy programming may apply to do so at Alexander Forbes School - The Academy School.
