Recognizing United Way Alberta Northwest for their contributions to student success in GPPSD schools

Grande Prairie Public School Division is pleased to announce that the United Way Alberta Northwest is our nominee for this year's Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) Friends of Education Award. 

The nomination for this award highlights United Way Alberta Northwest's invaluable support in our continuous and collective efforts to maintain supportive and inclusive educational environments for our students. The following focused initiatives support students' academic and social success:

  • Tools for School Program, which gives students a hand-up with necessary school supplies
  • Funding of psycho-educational assessments to assist high school students with developmental disabilities;
  • Funding of school nutrition programs
  • Period Promise Program, which provides essential menstrual products enhancing school efforts to address period poverty.
