École Parkside is a Preschool to Grade 4 French Immersion school, with a student population of 435 and a staff of 25. We are located in central Grande Prairie, and are the ONLY single-track elementary French Immersion Centre in GPPSD.

Our school has developed a reputation for excellence over the past 30 years due in large part to its student and family centered approach to education, and our retention of an experienced and highly qualified staff, including teachers with specialty training in second language instruction, physical education, music and technology.

The current student population of 435 students in grades preschool to grade 4, and the dedicated efforts of staff to work cooperatively across grade levels, help to create a truly safe, family environment for learning. École Parkside has a commitment toward small group instruction and the creation of meaningful, long-term community relationships that enhance learning within the school. Parent involvement has always been welcomed and the school benefits greatly from an active and hardworking Parent School Council.

With one glance into our classrooms you’ll see that French and English literacy are very important to our school community. Through goal setting, small group instruction and self and peer assessment our students are actively engaged in literacy learning. Dedicated efforts of staff to work cooperatively across grade levels help create a truly safe, family environment for learning. The creation of meaningful, long-term parent and community relationships enhance learning within the school.  Parent involvement has always been welcomed and the school benefits greatly from an active and hardworking Parent School Council.
