December 1, 2022 – It is time to reveal the winners of the annual Board of Trustees Christmas card contest. It was no easy task, with over 300 students sharing their artistic talents.
This year's theme was 'Christmas is a time to celebrate belonging,' and the winners are:
First Place (featured on GPPSD Christmas card)

Aspyn, Grade 6, Maude Clifford Public School
"My Christmas card has three trees with different green colours, representing different people coming together to celebrate the holidays. That's what belonging means to me." - Aspyn
Second Place

Ava, Grade 5, Ecole Montrose
"My card shows a big family gathering for Christmas. You can see all the family members, their cat, dog and aunties in the background. Big family events are nice. It is a time of belonging when you feel accepted, loved, safe and happy with your family." - Ava
Third Place

Alec, Grade 6, Maude Clifford Public School
"My Christmas card is of my family. We are standing around the warm fireplace, and it feels safe, a place of belonging." - Alec
"We were joyfully overwhelmed with the number of students who took the time to participate in the contest," said Joan Nellis, Board Chair. "On behalf of the Board, thank you to every student who shared their artistic talents with us. You warmed our hearts and put us in the holiday spirit!"
Congratulations, winners, and thank you, grade 4-6 students, for helping our Board celebrate the holiday season!
