​November 8, 2022 - Mark your calendar because on November 12th, GPPSD's Phoenix football team will be hosting the Bev Facey Falcons for the Larry Wilson (Regional Based) Tier 1, ASAA Provincial Playoffs for 2022!

"I am very proud of how our team has performed this season," says Symon Pfau, Head Coach of the Pheonix. "They massively improved from last year, due to off-season work and their commitment to one another through the season. This is a wonderful group of players, and we are really looking forward to our last home game on the 12th!"

This year, the team got their new name: The Phoenix, and a new look! The change has inspired his players says Pauf, "they love the new jerseys! Our players are proud and excited about the new branding and the opportunities in the new Composite High School. Their relationships are strong, and our coaching staff can't wait to see how they will continue to build the future of this team." 

"On behalf of the coaching staff, I can say we are so proud of them. I've been enjoying how they built the brotherhood within the football family over the year," says Pauf. "The sky is the limit for members of the Phoenix, as football players and young members of our society."

Pfau adds, "Football brings the school and community together. The fans have been great – showing up to support us. It's been a great run, and we aren't done yet!" 

Come out and help us cheer on the Pheonix at their last home game! Game time is at 4pm, at the Hanson Lincoln Field.
