Hosted by Peace Collaborative Services Parents and Guardians of youth Grades 5 and up.
Education on sexuality and healthy relationships is a need for all youth. Many find sex education challenging, especially when parenting youth with developmental disabilities. This session will help prepare parents and guardians to start this important conversation with your child as they prepare for puberty and becoming adults. A brief overview of sexual development and sexual education topics for youth age 10 and up will be provided. Discussion will focus on resources and helpful teaching strategies that will balance developing knowledge and skills for healthy intimate relationships while managing risks.
