French Immersion Preschool and Kindergarten Registration

What is French Immersion (FI)?

French immersion is a successful approach to second language learning due to its unique learning environment where French is used as the language of instruction for several or all subjects other than English Language Arts.

Which school(s) do offer FI offered at?

The French Immersion programming is offered at École Montrose for grades 5 to 8 and at Charles Spencer High School for grades 9-12.

Do students and their parents need to know French to enter FI?

Students and families DO NOT need to know French to enter this program.

Registration Requirements:

  • Kindergaten Registion Package Download Package

  • Proof of Age: Child’s birth certificate must be presented at time of registration. (Birth certificate application forms available) Your child must be born before December 31, 2013

  • Alberta Health Number

  • Proof of address for student: Documents such as rental agreement/utility bill/phone and/or mortgage.
