Ms. Clark's grade 2 and 3 students at I.V. Macklin Public School participated yesterday in an exciting community project called Operation Christmas Tree.

Operation Christmas Tree provides students with a chance to share in the Christmas Spirit and have an opportunity to show empathy towards a family in our community. Being a good member of our community means being a good citizen, which our students continuously learn in Social Studies. 

This year the community project was in the Crystal Heights/Ivy Lake area and each student handcrafted an ornament for the event, which they each placed on a tree in that neighbourhood.

The importance of recognizing this family and brightening up their Christmas provided our students with a chance to share in the giving spirit practiced in our community.
