We are thrilled to have had the Association for the Advancement of Science and Engineering Education (AASEE) spend two weeks with our GPPSD students from May 13 to May 24 at the following schools; Maude Clifford Public School, Aspen Grove School, Riverstone Public School, Parkside Montessori, Isabel Campbell Public School, Roy Bickell Public School, Grande Prairie Christian School, Swanavon School and Avondale School.
Their expert team from the University of Calgary, inspired our students, promoting an excitement in science. Their curriculum relevant, engaging activities included:
  • How computers work

  • Fun with Buoyancy
  • Making Electricity
  • Ship the Chip (structures and forces)
  • Design Compound Balance (Mechanical Systems)
The AASEE is dedicated to advancing science and engineering education at the Kindergarten to Grade 12 level. They seek to inspire future science and engineering leaders. They are mandated to work across the globe and are implementing an ambitious plan to give priority to diverse populations. Their presentations are conducted by volunteers with engineering backgrounds.

This experience would not have been possible without the help and support of our generous sponsors:
