Academic Support
School Intervention Programs: Early assessment practices are used to identify needs of students who may not be learning at the same rate as their peers. Access to learning support teachers is available for all grades. Parkside also benefits from extra support through a French monitor, supported financially by Federal funding.

Reading Recovery Program: At Parkside we offer an early  intervention for struggling readers in grade one.

Free after school homework support: Our twice weekly after school homework programs runs until 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.    Parents or teachers may request that the child attend that day's after school program.

Destination Imagination: This program is dedicated to fostering creativity, problem solving and team building in  students.  Destination ImagiNation teams are given challenges and together work towards finding a solution.

Our commitment to students and parents is always evolving to best meet the needs of our Parkside community.  We are here to help, whether it be identifying and working through a student's unique learning requirements or assisting parents looking for support. We have created a variety of in school and after school student programs, and evening classes( for parents wishing to learn French)
