A message from our Administrators

Bienvenue à l’école Parkside,

When thinking about what to write that would “say it all” about École Parkside School in a limited amount of space, the most obvious thing to do is to highlight why this school is a special place to learn.

Parkside is unique in our District by being the only French Immersion centre to offer an immersion program to students from kindergarten to grade 6. With only 235 students, our past strength has been in creating partnerships within our entire school community. If you look beyond our physical appearances you will discover a warm family atmosphere.   We welcome parental involvement and we encourage you to ask how you can get involved.

Parkside is a good choice for your child because we offer:

  • Enhanced programming with music ( band and orchestra in upper grades), physical education and technology with specialists on site
  • Special education and enrichment support
  • Varied extracurricular opportunities
  • Stable, experienced teaching staff
  • Character education through weekly assemblies

We believe it is our responsibility to keep parents informed of programs, routines and policies of our school and more importantly, that two-way communication is an essential key to school success.  We welcome you to contact our office staff, Mme Peddie our secretary, our vice principal, Mme Pelé or myself Mme Perrott if you have any questions or concerns.

On our web site, at http://www.gppsd.ab.ca/school/parkside/Pages/default.aspx  you will find  a list of staff members, a calendar of upcoming events and our bi weekly newsletter. Our school plan identifies strategies that we are undertaking this year to reach our school goals in literacy, numeracy and social responsibility.

To support our English speaking families we also offer an after school homework program three times a week, from 3:02 until 4pm.  Parents may also choose a more structured day care program, housed here at our school. Glory Garden, before and after shcool care, is available five days a week and school improvement days.

We are a learning community, working together to ensure the success of our learners and more specifically, our students.

Here’s to an enjoyable and successful school year!

Joanne Perrott, Principal and Ginette Pelé, Vice-principal

Sensitivity warning: We are a nut free school.
