Derek Taylor Public School Library/Media Center
The Derek Taylor Public School Library is more than just a room filled with books.  It is a starting point for adventure, knowledge, and exploration.

Our Library Collection contains over 7,000 titles including a mix of both Fiction and Non-Fiction books.  It includes five fully set up research stations with both internet access and OPAC look up station capabilities.  Using these tools, library users can discover the resources contained in the library and what is available to them via the internet.  Our library collection can also be browsed online using the link listed in the column on the right of this page.

Each class of students visits our library a minimum of once per week with most classes coming two or three times. Mrs. Kennedy and Miss Shmyruk read books from the collection out loud to the students and assist them in choosing books during these library blocks.  In addition to regular class blocks, the library is often booked for research groups and center based activities.

The DTPS library is always bustling with activity.  Students look forward to coming to read, to research, to display their finished products and to work cooperatively together.
