Student Handbooks

All students at Derek Taylor Public School receive a student agenda.  Agenda use is promoted on a school wide basis, to help students learn skills necessary to support setting personal goals, time management, to help prepare for tests, to plan and prioritize tasks, as well as to schedule and track school and personal activities.

The agenda can also act as a direct link between the home and the school.  Parents are encouraged to regularly review the agenda with their children and discuss the contents and make suggestions on how the agenda may be even better utilized.  Please ensure your child takes responsibility for informing you if there is a personal note from the teacher, or conversely, inform the teacher if you have included a note from you at home to the teacher.

Students should regularly carry their agendas, and ensure their name and room number are clearly marked inside the cover.  Students who lose an agenda may purchase a replacement for a nominal fee in the school office.

Please encourage your child to use his/her agenda.  If you find ways of making the agenda even more valuable for you or your child, please share them with us.  If they would be of benefit to all parents we will even post them in our weekly newsletter!
