CLOSED CAMPUS POLICY

 In order to ensure the safety of your child, students will not be permitted to leave school grounds during the lunch break unless an Application for lunchtime privileges has been filled out.  Parents who wish to pick up their child for lunch are asked to go to reception and sign-out your child before leaving the school.   

 A supervised lunchroom and full cafeteria service is provided for students.  Use of the lunchroom is a privilege, and abuse could result in a loss of lunchroom and/or noon break privileges.  To ensure the cleanliness of the school and school grounds, lunches may only be eaten in designated areas.  Eating and drinking is not allowed in the hallways, non-supervised classrooms, bathrooms or outside.

 Lunchroom Rules

1.        Grades 1 - 6 will eat in their classrooms, grades 7 - 9 will eat in the lunchroom.

2.        Elementary students have 20mins to each lunch and the remaining 15mins will be recess outside pending weather. Junior High students will have the option of remaining in the lunchroom area or proceeding to 4 other supervised areas. A schedule will be provided to students in September outlining the areas available to them during the noon break.

3.        Students may be allowed in the hallways to work or attend meetings in a classroom only with the permission and supervision of a teacher.

4.        Students may go outside to the supervised designated areas on school grounds only.  Students returning inside prior to the first bell must proceed directly to the lunchroom.

5.        Students may go to the gym to participate or watch activities depending upon the schedules posted by the gym supervisors.

6.        Elementary students are not allowed access to the canteen during lunch break, but can pre-order in their classrooms – see below for details.
