What Is School Community Team?
The team is an inter-agency group that meets at Avondale every three weeks to help parents and students who are in need of support from helping agencies. A schedule for Avondale School is available at the school office.
What Does the Service Team Offer?
The Team offers weekly case conferences for parents and school staff. It also offers workshops to support growth and development of students, parents, and staff.
Who Is On The Team?
Many inter-agency groups will offer support to families including a teacher and/or counsellor, a school administrator, a Mental Health Therapist, a Peace Country Health Nurse, an Aboriginal Support Worker, and a Family Enhancement Worker.
Why Go?
If you or someone you know is having difficulty with family relationships, school problems, or parenting problems, then the Team is willing to help. The Team offers advice, suggestions, good listening and referral information on a wide variety of topics. The focus is on helping entire families cope with difficult situations in an effective manner. The service is free and confidential.
Our Main goal is to help parents whose child/children are experiencing difficulties at school and home.
