PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 4-6
All programs are taught by certificated teaching staff
Elementary Academic Support: Running weekdays from Monday July 4th to Friday July 15th, this course will provide Gr. 4-6 students with extra support in Math and/or Language Arts. The purpose of this program is to offer students specific skills to build their confidence for starting their next grade level in September. $375.
Destination ImagiNation Summer Camp: Building on the hugely successful Destination ImagiNation program offered this past winter, Gr. 4-6 students can participate in a one-week camp, from Monday July 4th to Friday July 8th, where they will have the opportunity to work collaboratively, exercise their creativity, and solve intriguing challenges similar to those used in the year-long program. $225.
Young Scientists: Gr. 4-6 students passionate about science will have the opportunity to work with hands-on projects and learning activities from the world of science. This course, running weekdays from Monday July 4th to Friday July 15th will engage students inside and outside the classroom, sharpen their powers of inquiry, and introduce them to various scientific disciplines. $375.
PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 7 – 9
JH Academic Support: Running weekdays from Monday July 4th to Friday July 15th, this course will provide Gr. 7 – 9 students with extra support in Math and/or Language Arts. The purpose of this program is to offer students specific skills to build their confidence for starting their next grade level in September. $375.
JH Wood Shop: Students in Gr. 7-9 who have taken wood shop in school and found they have a passion for it can spend weekdays from Monday July 4th to Friday July 8th sharpening their skills in the shop. This course, taught by a master instructor from the Grande Prairie Regional College, will provide students with the opportunity to explore their passion and spend full days working on projects to take home. $375 plus the cost of materials for advanced projects.
JH Computers: Are you in Gr. 7-9 and interested in computer games? Do you have a passion for computer programming, art or music? If the answer to these questions is yes then come join an instructor from the Grande Prairie Regional College for a two week summer enrichment course which will introduce participants to the essentials of computer game development using GameMaker software. If you have programming/art/music skills, are comfortable using computers and work well in a team environment – this is the course for you. Join us weekdays from Monday July 4th to Friday July 15th and get an early and fun start on your game making portfolio. $375.
JH Art: Is Art your thing? Are you in Gr. 7-9? Do you love to express yourself through different media? If so, this hands on course, running weekdays from Monday July 4th to Friday July 15th is for you. Students will have the opportunity to explore their passion more deeply using different media, inside and outside the classroom. $375.
**PLEASE NOTE: All programs are instructed by certificated teaching staff and are offered on a cost recovery basis. Programs may be cancelled at the end of June if enrolments are not sufficient.

Registrations may be submitted with payment at the Grande Prairie Public School District Offices (10213 – 99 St. Downtown Grande Prairie) between the hours of 9 am - 12 pm, and 1 pm - 4 pm.
