The excellence of the Grande Prairie Public School District's music program has been recognized at the local, provincial, national and international levels.

Children begin receiving classroom music instruction at the beginning of elementary school. Instrumental music is introduced through orchestra in Grade 4 and band in Grade 5.

The instrumental ahd choral music programs continue through junior high and high school, where groups have gone on to win major national and international awards.

Also offered in junior and senior high school are drama and visual arts, through which GPPSD students have participated in local productions and exhibits.
