The 2012 Girls 4A Provincial Golf Champions

GPPSD sports teams and individual athletes have been recognized as being some of the best in both the province and the country. In addition to their athletic success, students in the District have also been honoured for displaying outstanding sportsmanship.

While all students participate in Daily Physical Activity as outlined by Alberta Education, the opportunity to participate in team sports and individual pursuits is readily available.

Junior High Schools maintain league play in basketball, volleyball, and badminton along with an annual track and field meet.

Senior High Sports include:

Basketball
Football
Volleyball
Wrestling
Badminton
Cross Country Running
Track and Field
Rugby

The Composite High School teams in volleyball and wrestling have won numerous 4A provincial championships, the Football team has won the MPFL championship 10 times since 1989 and our teams have received the provincial most sportsmanlike team in volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading a combined 12 times!  (We believe this is a record for one school in 4A in the province.)

Our Elementary schools engage in a wide range of activities as well - 3-Ball, Cross-country run, track, basketball and other events over the course of the year provide opportunities for grade 5-6 students to engage in friendly developmental competition.
