Our Projects

Each year since 2000, the Foundation has hosted the Striving for Excellence Awards Dinner to recognize outstanding achievement and citizenship among the District’s grade 4-12 students.  More than 100 students are recognized yearly for putting forth an exceptional effort and providing a service to their school and community throughout the school year.  As well, a number of graduates of the Career and Technology Studies (CTS) program at the Composite High School receive scholarships sponsored by local businesses.

Through individual donations, fundraisers, sponsorships and community partnerships, the Education Foundation is able to support such city-wide initiatives as:

  • Saturday Tutorial
  • Anti-bullying programs
  • D.A.R.E. program
  • Grande Prairie Public Schools Nutrition Program
  • Finishing Touch Grad Society
  • First Nations, Metis & Inuit Program
  • Forestry Education program
  • Heroes Initiative
  • Music programs
  • Grade 3 Summer Reading University.
  • Career & Technology Studies scholarships
  • Striving for Excellence Awards Dinner
  • Literacy Backpack for Grade 1
  • First Responders program
  •  After School Learning
